CBRD EvoX RB-X Turbo
Utilizing the latest Borg Warner EFR 7163 IWG turbocharger on a proprietary CBRD piping kit - this new kit allows for those owners looking for excellent spool and amazing power output to have everything they need!
The 7163 has some excellent design features such as:
- Mixed Flow Gamma-Ti turbine wheel
- Forged milled extended tip compressor wheel
- Military-grade dual ceramic ball bearing assembly with silver plated metal cage
- Stainless steel turbine housing
- Water cooled light-weight Aluminum bearing housing
- Large internal wastegate (optional)
- Compressor recirculation valve (aka BOV)
Many of our EVO X clients were facing the issue of cracked OEM manifolds, replacing downpipes, and upgrading their exisiting turbocharger assembly at the same time- which pushed the investment beyond what they wanted to invest- We wanted to create a lightweight package- with excellent flow... great reliability... and amazing durability and power- and here is what we did.
Some of the key elements of the package are:
CBRD Stainless Steel Tubular Manifold with 1.25" Runners and Vband Outlet:
- Stainless Steel Construction
- Back Purged for full penetration and strength
- Utilizes OEM heat shield and massive clearance to the firewall (heat shield does require trimming)
CBRD 3" Tubular Stainless Steel Downpipe:
- Full 3" Stainless Steel
- V-band inlet
- Flex Coupler
- Dual O2 Sensor bungs for OEM O2 sensor and aftermarket wideband (optional)
CBRD Intake and Intercooler Pipe Outlet:
- Both bolt up to existing Intake (or OEM)
- Outlet can be setup for OEM IX pipe elbow- or aftermarket style
Utilizes OEM Plumbing Components:
- Can Utilize OEM water lines with a small modification- However we supply AN fittings and push lock hoses
- Supplied EVO modified Oil Return Tube
- Braided oil feed Line
BORG Warner EFR 7163 IWG V-band turbocharger:
- 60 lbs min
- 3" inlet 2" outlet
- Internally Gated with upgraded actuator
- optional boost solenoid- or extension harness- and BOV block off or internally recirculated BOV with plug
On our LOW READING Mustang Dyno (stock evo X 220-225whp) this kit made 418whp/335wtq at 26 psi on STOCK AIRBOX, STOCK IC PIPES, with a 3" Exhaust, and Intercooler Upgrade- With the addition of a 3" MAF housing and CBRD Charge piping- it netted a MASSIVE 438whp/339wtq at 26.5 psi on 93 octane!!
The Dyno Chart shown is from the original CBRD Shop Project car- that previously had a BBX Lite Ball Bearing, CBRD Manifold, and AMS Downpipe- with 3" Intake and all other supporting mods- it lost 285rpm worth of initial spool- but gained 60-70whp and 30-40wtq through the entire powerband-
TECH TIP: The integrated bov setup has outstanding response- and in our experience hasnt exhibited the "flutter" affect that many of the other aftermarket valves do- You can run both your current valve and the integrated valve- however we prefer to exclusively use the EFR's CRV valve
