When the turbo is making boost (anything above atmospheric pressure, so even very small amounts of boost) the PCV closes to save pressurising the cam cover, but the volume of blow by gases increases as the engine is working harder. The oil mist is now drawn out and into the inlet of the turbo. After a while the turbo inlet tract will be coated with oily sludge that reduces performance and makes turbo problems harder to resolve as the turbo impellor is covered in oil ! Also as the PCV fails with age, more and more oil mist will be dumped into the inlet tract. The Forge oil catch can system (FMCT2EV10) for the turbo inlet pipe works in the same way as the catch can for the inlet manifold(FMCT1EV10) – oil mist is sent through a series of baffles to remove the oil from the air, the oil is collected in a catch tank behind the bumper and can be drained easily from a drain bolt just under the front of the bumper. ‘Clean’ air is returned to the inlet of the turbo.Everything required is included within the kit, simply choose the colour of the hoses required in the options below.
